Countess Rune Drop/Difficulty Question

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could give me the information on what runes countess can drop in each difficulty, as in her highest rune per difficulty.

I'm pretty sure the highest rune she drops in Hell is Ist, however I have no idea what she drops in NM or Normal so could anyone give me this information.

Off Topic: The reason I am asking this is because I am in dire need of a sol rune, I'm thinking countess is the way to go to get this, however if someone has suggestions on other places to run to quickly get a sol rune then please enlighten me.

I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks

Joosh

I believe:

Normal: El - Ral
Nightmare: El - Io
Hell: El - Ist

But those are just her special rune drops. On Hell it is possible to get higher runes from her regular drop, but don't hold your breath.

El - Nef (normal drop) - Ral (rune drop)
El - Ko (normal) - Io (rune)
El - Ist (normal) Lo (rune)

Can I plug Sir_Ps Rune Running Guide and Urlkis rune guide.

Thanks for the quick responses guys, actually while i was waiting for a response I just ran her on nm and within 15 runs had scored:

2 thul
1 amn
1 sol
1 shael
1 hel

so not too bad really, there's no real way to run hell countess with a blizzard sorc is there, isn't hell countess always CI? I seem to remember it being something like that.

Thanks

Don't get used to those results. She uses them to suck you in and then, 2000 runs later, you're none the better Countess Rune Drop/Difficulty Question (1)

Now isn't that the truth, erics? However, I did get lucky and score an Ist after only ~80 runs.

A while back, say a few weeks ago, I did a hundred NM Countess runs in search of a Sol rune for an Insight polearm for my mercenary. I didn't find the Sol until towards the very end, the last 10 runs. The rest of the drops were crap, except for an Io and a Shael. No amns, no thuls, a couple Tals and thats about it. I found some Amns on the way to her, though. One from a chest, another from a grave and I can't remember where I got the third one. I could've cubed up a Sol quicker than she dropped me one but I was probably just having strange luck.

On a side note, I was doing these runs on P8 with 125MF since my Sin naturally had that amount at the time. According to ATMA, the chance to drop a Sol should've been 1:20 or something close to that.

if you run with /players8, the Countess will drop a lot of non-rune items. ALWAYS run on /players1 if you're after runes. (it's explained in more detail in the link pappy posted).

That explains it. I just ran her on whatever ATMA said was best for a Sol.

Anyone: NM Countess is the best place to find runes up to Io, right? I think I'm going to make some runs in order to make early game twinking gear for characters and I need to find some more runes. Namely Sol, Io's, and Thuls. My strongest character, at the moment is a level 70 Sin in A5 NM. She dies far too often for me to try pushing her further so I'm going to work on different characters. /endhijack

yup, NM Countess is your best bet (so far). A few Meph/Pindle/Baal runs would probably help you too if you can handle those safely (i.e. good for items & experience - not so much for runes).

If you get to a high enough level, and it's safe to run Hell Countess, she's a better target than her NM counterpart - the odds are almost identical for lower runes (~1% total for Lem+, so 99% of your runes will still be Fal or lower)... still there's always that small chance you'll get a medium-high rune from her too.
